Our Wedding Day & Vendors

Taylor and I are celebrating our two year anniversary today – and I can’t believe it’s gone by so fast! It seems like it wasn’t that long ago because I can remember everything so well.

I was going through my past blog posts about our wedding and realized I never created a post that was dedicated to the details of our day and the vendors that helped us – so I thought today would be the perfect opportunity to finally write that. Our wedding was also featured on Style Me Pretty, which you can read more about here.

Location, location, location. We got married at the Oldfield River Club in Okatie, SC. And you wanna know what’s crazy? We got married in South Carolina (we live in Georgia) and none of our families are from there. Everyone always asks me why did you have a destination wedding in SC – and it’s because we absolutely fell in love with the venue and the grounds. We had toured so many venues in Georgia and fell in love with one, but it was out of our price range sadly. I came across a picture on IG while I was looking up wedding inspiration and found this beautiful picture of a bride and her bridesmaids with moss filled trees. I instantly fell in love and called to schedule a tour – and the rest is history.

The venue is so beautiful! Front and center is the River Club with a huge wrap around porch – just the kind of southern touch I love. The back of the River Club is where we got married and had our reception. It overlooks the River and there’s tons of space. Inside the River Club they had two rooms for each bridal party to get ready/chill in before the ceremony started. But what I really loved about the property is that there were two cottages next door to the venue (literally walking distance) that we rented – one for the bride and bridesmaids & the other for the groom and groomsmen. We loved getting to hang out altogether and then getting ready in our respective cottages the morning of.

I got my dress from Sweet Elegance Bridal in Decatur, GA. Their selection was so great and the staff was really helpful. I went to three bridal shops in one day and this was the last stop. I felt way more comfortable here than I did the others and I got to try on more dresses. Funny enough, the dress I chose was actually the very first dress I tried on at the first store I went to.

The designer of my wedding gown was Pronovias and in the Princia style. It’s a lace mermaid dress with a scalloped sweetheart neckline. It is such an elegant and beautiful dress – I wish I had another occasion to wear it to because I love it that much!

The guys got their navy suits from Jos A Banks!

Bridesmaid Dresses

I’m a sucker for pretty tulle dresses and I absolutely loved the Jenny Yoo Annabelle dress my bridesmaids wore. You can read all about their dress details in my blog post here.

Bride/Bridesmaids Robes

Both my bridesmaids and flower girl robes came from this seller on Etsy. We got them without lace in the Baby Blue color and asked for them to be fall about mid-thigh.

My robe came from this seller on Etsy. She designs beautiful lace maxi robes that are gorgeous! I’ve linked all her bridal robe options here.

My gosh did I absolutely looooove our flowers! Our flowers were from Harvey Designs in Savannah, GA and I highly recommend them if you’re getting married near there. The bouquets, the alter and all of the table pieces were so gorgeous. Definitely one of my favorite things from our wedding day.

We had a DJ for our reception from All About You Entertainment in Savannah, GA. Our DJ, Will, was so great at keeping everyone on the dance floor! We also got our photo booth from them!

Our ceremony musicians were from Lowcountry Pianist & Company. We had a piano/cello duo and they played The Feather Theme from Forrest Gump for the precession and This Will Be for the recession along with other songs while the guests were being seated.

Makeup & Hair

Our hair & makeup was done by Lashes & Lace from Charleston, SC. They did an amazing job not only with my hair & makeup but also my bridesmaids and mom’s! I HIGHLY recommend them!

Our cake was made by Sweet Rhi in Charleston, SC. Not only did our cake look pretty but it also tasted so good! She was also so amazing to work with. Since we didn’t live in SC we unfortunately were not able to go and have a taste test – so we relied on all of the amazing reviews! And they were not wrong! Her cakes are so beautiful and tasty!

We had a three tiered cake with buttercream frosting. Our bottom tier was Chocolate with Raspberry jam, our middle tier was Red Velvet with Cream Cheese and our top tier was Fresh Strawberry cake. She even created a small separate Strawberry cake for us to have on our one year anniversary.

When we booked the venue we had to use their catering services, but fear not because it was AMAZING! I still dream about their Mac & Cheese!

Wedding Coordinator

Our team at Intrigue Design & Events was so great! We opted for a Month of Event Coordinator vs a wedding planner because I wanted someone to take care of everything on the day of with some planning/scheduling help the month leading up to our wedding.

They did an amazing job planning an itinerary/timeline, contacting all the vendors, overseeing proper setup and design of our ceremony & reception and so much more! They were such a blessing at making sure everything was done correctly so I didn’t have to worry about those things on our wedding day!

Photographer & Videographer

Last but certainly not least are our wonderful Photographers & Videographers. These were the vendors we wanted to invest more money into since they are the ones providing something we will look back on for the rest of our lives.

Our Videographer was Life in Rewind and I cannot say enough how awesome PJ and his team were! They were so cool and professional and their work is on another level! You can view our wedding video here.

Our Photographer was Elizabeth Lanier Photography (previously Simply Sarah Photography). They were so good at getting all of the important and candid moments along with the little details. Sarah and her husband were the sweetest couple to work with and I will forever cherish their photos.

Taylor and I will forever remember our wedding day and we owe a huge THANK YOU and lots of love to the people and vendors who made it all possible. So grateful for everyone involved!
