White Dress: Lace Trim Peasant Minidress
This past weekend we had our couples shower hosted by our best friends! I know what you may be thinking – “what is a couples shower?” Instead of a bridal shower – where friends and family of the bride (usually only females) come together to shower her with gifts, a couples shower is where friends and family of the bride AND groom (females and males) come together to present the gifts to the BOTH of them. I wanted Taylor to be a part of the shower and I wanted all of our family and friends to be there for the both of us, so that’s why I went with a couples shower instead of a bridal shower. Plus I also don’t like to be the only one who is the center of attention (lol).
I feel like a couples shower is also more laid back which is exactly how I wanted it to be! Our friends did a great job decorating and getting everything together – even if the balloons have a missing letter! 😉 Funny story – the “E” balloon that was supposed to spell out LOVE popped when it was being blown up at the store, so the guys were quick on their feet and thought to get a “3” balloon and flip it. I honestly love that we ended up having a “3” instead of an “E” – makes for a funny story!
I also loved the dress I wor! I got it at the last minute (the day before our shower) because the dress I ordered online didn’t end up working, and I’m honestly so glad the other dress didn’t work out! The sleeves and the collar of the dress were lined with this patterned lace and it had flowy sleeves (a current favorite trend of mine). It definitely had a bohemian vibe to it and I love that it was airy and light. Definitely recommend this dress to future brides or for anyone that needs a dress for a special occasion!
